During the summer we dance out on most Wednesday evenings at local pubs or venues, between May and October.
During the winter season we meet on Wednesday evenings at St Budeaux Church Hall, PL5 2HN, from 7.30pm - 9.30pm from October to April for our practices. Come along and have a go. Musicians and dancers welcome. Open to all. Free taster sessions on Wednesday 7th October 2026 and Wednesday 28th October 2026. Come along for a great evening of keep fit, laughs and hopefully the start of a new hobby. We'll even buy you a drink after your first session at the pub afterwards!
No previous experience necessary. It's a great way to keep fit and it is a great social activity. Contact [email protected] for more info.

What's Happening Next?
2026 Programme Our summer programme for 2026 is out now! If you have any events coming up and would like us to perform for you, it's not too late! Please get in touch with our Bagman, Marion, via [email protected] . On Wednesday 19th August we will be at The Pack Horse Inn, South Brent, with guests, Dartington Morris, from 8pm onwards. Our Book About ... The Plymouth Morris Tradition The Plymouth Morris Tradition is a set of (mostly) four man dances first performed in public during 1989. A new 24 page book compiles a short history of early Morris dancing (including Tudor records for Plymouth), and the music and dance notation for the tradition. The book is also available in a paperback edition for £3 in person, or £4 including postage and packing (cheques payable to Plymouth Morris should be sent to Plymouth Morris, 92 Ponsonby Road, Plymouth PL3 4HW). The proceeds from the sale of the book were dedicated to renewal of the Plymouth Morris costume for the Mayflower 400 celebrations. Charity
Each year we make a donation to a charity and have raised over £5,000 over the last 10 years. Our nominated charity for 2026 is Marie Curie Cancer Care, which is the UK’s leading end of life charity.
Our nominated charity for 2025 was Crohn's and Colitis UK. We presented them with a cheque for £500.00 at our Ceilidh at the end of February 2026.

Foreign Trips
Plymouth Morris have had several foreign trips in recent years, including Helmond in The Netherlands in 2005 and 2023, a trip to Hungary and Serbia in July 2006 and Jersey in May 2007. In August 2009 we went to south-western France for the 50th Annual International Folklore Festival at Montrejeau. We have had several trips to Brest in conjunction with the Plymouth-Brest Twinning Association, including the Maritime Festival held every 4 years. |
